soft echoes of place, memory, and feeling
My paintings begin with a feeling I want to hold onto. Sometimes it comes from being in a landscape; sometimes it comes from a memory or a moment. Through layered color, movement, and organic forms, I aim to carry that feeling onto the canvas.

I work primarily with acrylic, water, and soft washes on canvas. Some pieces grow out of the time I’ve spent in a place, while others start somewhere more abstract. I’m drawn to what lingers, and to finding a way to give that feeling a life of its own in a painting.
