Artist Bio

Ashley Marie Richiez is a self-taught artist from New England, where she grew up surrounded by its breathtaking landscapes. Since 2016, she has made Austin, Texas, her home, which has nurtured both her personal and creative life. Although Ashley's artistic journey began in her youth, the pandemic of 2020 was a turning point, prompting her to fully embrace her passion for art. During this time of reflection, she realized that creating art brought her true joy. Inspired by her love of nature, Ashley infuses her work with the rhythmic colors and organic forms that reflect the beauty of the natural world. She has showcased her art in group exhibitions, local and online galleries, and has collaborated with interior designers and studios, establishing herself as a notable presence in the art community.

Artist Statement

As a self-taught artist fueled by my love for the great outdoors, I find nature to be a wildly beautiful force that constantly inspires my work. Using acrylics and water on canvas, along with moments of pastels, pigments, and charcoal, I aim to capture the emotions that nature stirs within me. Exploring new places sparks my creativity, allowing me to paint fresh narratives that celebrate the beauty around us.

I want to bring the essence of my surroundings to life on canvas, capturing their rhythm and movement in an abstract, expressive way. My paintings reflect those fleeting moments in nature, offering a unique perspective on each experience.

With every mark I make, I hope to break through the constraints of time and share a new moment—a fresh story in an ever-changing narrative.
